OUR PROCEDURES

As a first step in any procedure, I carefully listen to what each patient wants and personally work with them to come up with a surgical plan that takes their wishes, budget, and medical history into account.
BOTOX & FILLERS
Botulinum Toxin, commonly known as Botox is an injectable protein produced by Clostridium Botulinum bacterium. It acts on muscles to temporarily weaken them, thus reducing wrinkles around the face. A professionally-administered and simple treatment, Botox temporarily smoothes moderate to severe facial lines. With repeated injections, deeper ingrained wrinkles can further soften. A micro needle is used to carry out the procedure, which minimises any discomfort which may be experienced. There are three main areas associated with Botox - Forehead, Glabella and Crows Feet. Botox is considered very safe and within days there's a noticeable improvement in those persistent crow's feet, forehead and frown (glabella) lines. Maximum results are seen after 2 weeks with the average effects lasting 3-5 months.
DERMAL FILLERS
During the ageing process our faces are constantly changing, which is where restylane can help you to rejuvenate and evaluate your youthfulness on a regular basis. Restylane is a clear gel made up of hyaluronic acid, which is present within the skin of all living organisms. Hyaluronic acid is what creates the volume in our skin; therefore this procedure lifts the skin once injected. Due to the nature of this product, allergy testing is not required, and often results in the procedure being completed within 30 minutes. Side effects from this treatment are very rare, but there may be minimal bruising or redness immediately after the treatment. Results can be visible immediately with the effects lasting typically last 6-12 months.
THREAD VEINS
Thread or spider veins are tiny veins that can be an unsightly discoloration mainly found on the legs, cheeks & nose. 50% of adult females suffer from unsightly veins and the gold standard of treatment for their eradication is 'sclerotherapy' - thread vein injection. A course of treatments is usually advised with most people requiring up to 2-4 sessions to remove the majority of veins. These injections permanently remove unsightly veins, however new veins can appear over the legs over a period of time. Injection sclerotherapy helps prevent the recurrence of thread veins, however if varicose veins and deep venous insufficiency are present then these should be treated prior to injection to achieve a longer lasting effect.
HYPERHIDROSIS
Hyperhidrosis is the condition of excessive sweating. This can occur anywhere on the body, although the areas most commonly treated are the armpits, the palms of the hands and the soles of the feet. Hyperhidrosis can be a very embarrassing problem, which up to 3% of adults in the UK suffer from. In order for the body to control its temperature in hot conditions or during exercise, sweating is necessary but when the sympathetic nervous system works at a very high level it can cause excessive sweating. Hyperhidrosis helps to prevent over stimulation of the sweat glands which cause a person to sweat excessively. Prior to treatment, a medical examination will be carried out to establish if there is a medical reason for the excessive sweating, in order to establish if a different course of action is required. Once the examination has been completed and the practitioner is satisfied that there is no medical reason for the sweating, treatment can proceed as desired. Treatments consist of Botulinum Toxin injections into the affected areas via a micro needle. As with facial treatments maximal effects are seen at two weeks, with results lasting 6-12 months. Although, this treatment will considerably reduce the problem of excessive sweating, it will not completely stop the sweating.
